Green lentil indian curry recipe
Ingredients :
Green Lentils - 100 gms ( cook them well in an open vessel )
Onions - 1 finely chopped
Tomato - 1
Garlic - 3 cloves
To season :
Extra virgin Coconut oil - 5 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 pinch
peppercorns - 1 tsp
cinnamon cloves flennel - a pinch
Asafoetida
Red chillies - 4
Salt to taste
Masala powders :
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Cream to taste
Butter to taste
Preparation :
1. In a medium sauce pan add the coconut oil add the seasonings to the warm oil, wait till the mustard seeds splutter.
2. Now add the onion , tomatoes along with the garlic saute them until golden brown add salt to taste.
3. Now add the masalapowders to the onion saute them well, wait until the masala cooks well.
4. Add the cooked lentils along with butter. Cook them about 10 - 12 minutes in low flame.
5. Serve the dish along with a tsp of cream
This lentil curry is great with white rice and rotis
