Ingredients :
Cabbage -finely julienned - 200 gms
Onions - 1/2 Red onion finely julienned
Ginger - 1/2 inch finely julienned
Green chillies - 3 finely julienned
Red chillies - 4
Oils
Extra virgin coconut oil - 3 tsps
To season :
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Chanadal - 1 tsp
urud dal - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Preparation :
In a medium sauce pan - heat the oil - add the mustard seeds let them flutter and now add the rest of the seasoning, let them in the oil for a minute until the oil is well seasoned
Add the red chillies and the rest of the ingredients all together saute them for about two - three minutes in a medium flame. IF you dont like the cabbage to be crunchier you can cook them longer in a low flame. This dish is a south indian cabbage saute recipe which would leave the vegetable crunchy.
You can always add more chilli powders or sambar powders if required.
Add salt to taste, serve this dish with white rice or rotis.
Serves - 1 person
